Chelsea want to tie their academy graduates Mason Mount, Armando Broja and Reece James to seven year contracts as part of Todd Boehly’s new initiative at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
This comes as Thomas Tuchel looks to build his team around Chelsea’s rising stars in the hopes of competing at the top of the Premier League and on all fronts once again.
So far, Chelsea have added Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka and Raheem Sterling to their first team squad.
Gabriel Slonina has also joined the Blues but will remain on loan at Chicago Fire until next year, where he weill join up with the Chelsea squad.

Cesare Casadei is set to become the next signing for Chelsea, as Tuchel adds another youngster to his squad to help with the development sides as well as provide cover for his first team.
While the Blues are still in the market for a central defender and forward this summer, as well as trying to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton, it appears that they will turn their attention to tying up existing youngsters to long-term contracts.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Chelsea co-owner and chairman Boehly is looking to implement a ‘US-style’ contract policy at the club.

This will be in place for those under the age of 25, seeing Chelsea lock their stars into long deals.
This would ensure that the stars are tied down at the club during their peak years, as is common in American sports.
Cucurella and Chukwuemeka both signed six-year deals upon their arrival at Chelsea, seeing the start of Boehly’s strategy.
Furthermore, Matt Law of The Telegraph revealed Chelsea want Mount and James to sign new six-year deals.

These would include the option of a seventh year and there have already been preliminary talks in which it has been made clear both players will receive good offers.
The Daily Mail continues to add Broja to the list of players that Chelsea are looking to tie down this summer as they plan for the future and ensure that they don’t risk losing their start for free during the prime of their careers.
This would avoid the situation that the club are facing with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, both of whom see their contracts expire next season.

The Blues saw both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger depart for free during the summer, with their contracts up, and are keen to tie other young players down to longer deals to avoid this.
It remains to be seen as to whether the trio will accept the new deals.
However, it is thought that any offers will see the players receive a subsequent pay rise from their current contracts.
