One unlucky Sydney Swans fan will have to make the trip to a laser removalist this week after jumping the gun and getting ‘Sydney Premiers 2022’ inked before their demoralising defeat.
It really is never a great omen to go ahead and get that preemptive tattoo before the deciding game.
This Sydney fan perhaps set the series of unfortunate events in motion when they went and got this outrageous ink prior to Sydney Swans' mammoth defeat to Geelong in the AFL Grand Final.
I don’t know what else would hurt more, the tattoo, the embarrassment, or the 133-52 defeat.

Either way, it certainly wasn’t the Sydney side’s day at the MCG as they fell to an 81-point thumping from the Cats in one of the most decisive losses in AFL Grand Final history.
The Cats never looked in trouble, cruising to a 41-7 lead in the first quarter, and it was simply all downhill from there for the Swans.
A horrendous third quarter for the Sydney team, that saw them only register a single point really put the nail in the coffin in what was a dominating Cats performance.
And for one lad, they were quickly regretting their ink.
Unfortunately for them, they weren’t receiving any sympathy online either.

One AFL fan commented: “Lucky they left space for ‘Runner Up!’”
Another simply wrote: “Ouch.”
However, there were some that offered up some solutions for the poor fan.
One Twitter user replied: “Just change the 3rd number to 1, so it reads 2012.”

Another agreed, saying: “Just a small laser removal job. One digit.”
Luckily for them, Sydney Swans took home the premiership back in 2012 with a hard-fought 91 to 81 victory over Hawthorn.
So that will perhaps ease the inked-up fan’s pain, and make the tattoo removalist’s life a lot easier.
One fan that was most definitely having a much better time was Geelong’s water boy Sam Moorfoot.
As the Cats celebrated their premiership win, captain Joel Selwood made a beeline for Moorfoot who was sitting in the front row.

Moorfoot locked his arms around his hero as his face turned from joy to shock at what Selwood had just said into his ear.
Although the words couldn't be heard on camera, it was clear in the moments that followed what was about to happen.
Footy fans in the stands helped launch the 29-year-old over the railing to celebrate on the hallowed grounds of the MCG with the team he keeps so close to his heart.
Moorfoot, who has Down syndrome, was then draped in a Grand Final victory medal and blinded everyone in the stands with the biggest grin that footy field is likely to ever see.
