Tom Brady helped the New England Patriots win their sixth Super Bowl and grabbed his sixth ring in the process making him the most successful player in the history of the game.

Super Bowl LIII might not go down as an instant classic but the match in Atlanta, Georgia at the incredible Mercedes-Benz Stadium will go down in history thanks to Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

Head coach Belichick clinched his eighth Super Bowl ring to make him the most successful man in the history of the game, winning two as defensive coordinator and six as head coach.

The 66 year old would not have been able to do it without his quarterback Brady as the 41 year old became the first player to win six rings.

It wasn't a classic performance from Brady but he still controlled the game and found Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman on a regular basis, especially for the play that led to the game's only touchdown.

Brady won the first three of his rings in 2001, 2003 and 2004 before the Pats went 10 years without winning, including two lost finals, but he has now won three of the last five Super Bowls.

Even LeBron James reckons Brady is the GOAT, greatness recognises greatness:

In the build up to the match Belichick had summed up his QB saying, "He's a great quarterback and I'd certainly put him up there against anybody.

"He's a great player, and he's been a great player for the New England Patriots. Certainly his record is unmatched. I'm glad he's my quarterback."

Last year Brady became the oldest winner of the Vince Lombardi trophy and it's taken him just a year to break his own record but, as he'd said in the build up to the match against the Rams, he confirmed after full time that he would continue playing next year.

The 41 year old has broken a whole host of records by winning his sixth Super Bowl ring and there's very little doubt that he is the greatest of all time, what a player!
