Patrick Mahomes has signed the largest contract in sporting history after agreeing to a 10-year extension with NFL side Kansas City Chiefs worth $503 million.
The quarterback made history earlier this year by leading the Chiefs to its first Super Bowl title in 50 years, while also being named Most Valuable Player.

He's been rewarded for his efforts with a mammoth contract that will keep him tied to the Arrowhead Stadium until 2031.
Mahomes' agency Steinberg Sports has claimed the extension will be worth $477 million in guarantees and also includes a no-trade clause.
The Texas Tech alumni will receive $83 million-plus in signing bonuses from 2021 to 2023, with the amount paid rising every year

Mahomes took to Twitter and addressed the news with the message of: "Here to stay...!"
The 24-year-old joined the roster in 2017 after being drafted at number 10 and impressed immediately, picking up the league's MVP award in 2018.
"Since he joined the Chiefs just a few years ago, Patrick has developed into one of the most prolific athletes in all of sports," Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said in a statement per ESPN.
