Canadian diver Pamela Ware missed out on a place in the Tokyo Olympics three-meter springboard final after an unfortunate stumble in her final attempt.
The 28-year-old, who came into the competition as one of the favourites, looked in good shape to qualify after a series of impressive dives but on her final attempt, she misjudged the approach.
As a result of the misstep, she decided to bail on the 3.5 difficulty dive and jump feet-first into the water. You can see that moment in the video below
The judges handed Ware a 0.0 for the botched attempt, which meant the Canadian failed to qualify for the final in 18th place with a score of 245.10.

In her post-dive comments, the 28-year-old explained her decision to pull out at the very last minute.
"I think that if I would have done the dive, I could have possibly hurt myself," Ware told broadcaster CBC.
"I have done everything possible to make it to where I am. I hope you guys are going to get used to having me around because I'm not going anywhere, I'm not giving up."
Ware took to Instagram after the competition to say the dream is "still very much alive" as she looks to bounce back.

"What we do in the competition is just a tiny factor of what we actually do to get to where we are," Ware said in the video.
"I was so ready for this competition, and I made a mistake. It could have happened to anybody, but it happened to me at the wrong time."
Mexican diver Arantxa Chavez also made a similar error during the preliminary round of the women's 3-metre springboard and again, she scored 0.0 from the judges.
