Jake Paul Issues Response After Thinking Conor McGregor's 'Salivating' Tweet Was About Him

Jake thought the tweet was directed at him, but it was actually about to a lovely pasta dish that the Irishman was about to tuck into.

Jake Paul has got the complete wrong end of the stick here.

The YouTuber has issued a chilling yet hilarious response to Conor McGregor after the UFC megastar appeared to fire off a tweet about Paul in the wake of his win over Tyron Woodley.

Only, the tweet had absolutely nothing to do with Paul - nothing.

Instead, it was actually about a lovely pasta dish that the Irishman was about to tuck into.

Just moments after trash-talking Disney kid Paul secured his huge victory over Woodley, McGregor took to social media to have his say on the matter - or so it seemed.

"Salivating," McGregor tweeted out to his millions of followers.

At first glance, Jake jumped to conclusions and assumed the Irishman was referring to him and his historic win.

But boy, wasn't he wrong.

Less than 60 seconds after his initial "salivating" tweet, McGregor fired off another post showing off a delicious lobster linguine that he was about to devour.

Paul eventually caught wind of McGregor's first tweet, but someone from his team clearly forgot to mention that McGregor was actually referring to his dinner - not some 24-year-old YouTuber.

Thinking that the tweet was about him, Paul then hit back at McGregor in his post-fight press conference.

"We're on the path to a lot bigger fights, I'm salivating too because I'm just getting warmed up," he told reporters.

"Conor McGregor has a lot more to focus on besides me right now.

"I'm five wins in a row and he's 1-3 in the past four years, so the guy needs to get off his little vodka, whatever the f**k his brand is, and start sobering up and getting back in the f**king gym."

I mean, you can't write this sort of stuff.

Now, whether McGregor intentionally did this or not is another question entirely.

It could very well be another genius ploy from the Irishman to get under Paul's skin, but for all we know he probably didn't bother to watch the fight at all and was completely out of the loop.

Either way, Paul's confused response made for an instant classic and he'll probably be left squirming at just how cringey it was.
