Tyson Fury has thrown down the gauntlet to Savannah Marshall.

The 'Gypsy King' says he is keen to face the WBO women's middleweight champion in a world-first cross-gender boxing match.

Fresh off the back of his trilogy victory over Deontay Wilder, questions have been raised as to who Fury should take on next.

Dillian Whyte has been screaming from the rooftops about a fight, Oleksandr Usyk is lurking in the background and that long-awaited super-fight with Anthony Joshua seems a million miles away.

Another bloke who has registered his interest in locking horns with the 'Gypsy King' is fellow undefeated Brit Joe Joyce - but Fury doesn't seem too fussed.

"I'm not really interested in fighting Joe Joyce,'' he told iFL TV.

"I'm probably looking at someone like Savannah Marshall to fight in a cross-gender heavyweight championship match-up.

"That is more interesting to me. I really do rate Savannah as a fighter, I think she's an unbelievable fighter and I'd be really interested in making the fight to be honest.

"She's a big girl and a super-middleweight I think, so I'd come down to like 17 stone from 20 and she could come up from like 12 stone or something and do a cross-gender fight... I'm being serious."

Granted, it may have been said in tongue-and-cheek, but Fury clearly rates the WBO middleweight queen.

Marshall currently boasts an impressive boxing resume consisting of 11 wins and zero losses with nine of her victories coming by way of knockout.

As for Fury himself, he is still waiting on confirmation regarding his mandatory WBC-sanctioned bout against Whyte.

And with Whyte currently locked in an ongoing legal battle with the WBC over his mandatory position, who knows when we'll see the former training partners throw down?

"I'm not bothered, I'm enjoying myself on a daily basis," Fury said on the situation.

"But I'll be looking forward to that fight with Savannah if Usyk and Joshua don't happen.

"I've always said that I'm only interested in two fights - Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.

"Apart from that I'm not interested.

"But I would be open to fighting Savannah Marshall - the challenge is out there Savannah. Take it up."

In the meantime, Joyce has stuck his hand up for a shot at Fury.
