Bryson DeChambeau is used to rifling golf balls into space with his huge tee shots.

But it seems the American is also used to witnessing stuff come down from space too - and by "stuff" we mean extraterrestrials.

The golf star has shed some light on the recent UFC encounter he has experienced... all from the comfort of his very own backyard.

After falling short in the PGA Championship, DeChambeau was having a chat on the SiriusXM PGA Tour radio where he detailed the freaky experiences.

"In Dallas, Texas, in my backyard, I was looking outside, looking up in the sky and Adam (DeChambeau's friend) was looking up in the clouds and he was like, 'what the heck is that?!'" he explained.

"He was like, 'dude, there's like two or three white specks' and I was like 'oh my gosh, you're 100% right.'

"For about 15 minutes we were literally just sitting there watching these things just move across the sky.

"We were out there thinking, 'What the heck is this?' They were floating, we thought 'oh, it's got to be an air balloon or something.'

"It was round and silver metallic and it had a top and a bottom to it. It was disc-like. I actually have a picture of it stored away.

"We all saw it and we all caught it. It was three little silver metallic discs... They were all moving in a triangle shape.

"They kept floating to the right, and then all of a sudden one didn't move and the other two moved away and they went further and further to the right... from that, about 15 minutes in, 20 minutes in they started moving back the other way.

"We were out there for literally just under an hour looking at them and thinking, 'What the heck is this?'"

According to DeChambeau, the three flying objects then disappeared when he and his friends went inside his house.

It turns out the 28-year-old is actually a former physics university major and has a passion for exploring the theory of "inter-dimensional travel".

This latest radio chat caps off a rather strange week for DeChambeau at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island.

The American big-hitter also found himself in the spotlight thanks to an extremely awkward encounter with his fellow countryman Brooks Koepka.

Appearing on camera for a television interview with the Golf Channel, Koepka hilariously rolled his eyes and sighed as his arch rival DeChambeau walked directly behind him.

The tense moment was leaked online and did the rounds on social media, leaving sports fans squirming in their seats at the sheer awkwardness of it all.
