Jake Paul Says He'll Be Trained By Khabib Nurmagomedov For Upcoming MMA Debut

The YouTuber-turned-boxer says he'll "100 percent" cross over into MMA at some point.

Jake Paul clearly fancies himself as a boxer, but it turns out he's also got his sights set on another combat sport too.

The YouTuber, who is set to take on former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in a boxing match this weekend, wants to make the switch from the ring to the steal cage.

That's right, Paul wants to give mixed martial arts a try and has already identified the perfect coach to take him under his wing.

"People seem to forget that I was a state wrestler, Division 1 in Ohio, one of the hardest wrestling states," Paul told reporters in a media scrum ahead of his bout with Woodley.

"I don't see why if I can do boxing at this high of a level that I couldn't do MMA at this high of a level.

"I'm gonna go get coached up by Jav Mendez, Team Khabib, and that's that. They're down, 100 percent."

If Paul is genuinely serious about crossing over into MMA, then he'd definitely be in safe hands with Khabib and the team at American Kickboxing Academy.

Interestingly, though, Paul has expressed interest in swapping the 12 ounce gloves for some tiny mitts in the past.

Not only has Paul called out almost every combat sports athlete on the planet - including the likes of Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz - but other mixed martial artists have fired back too, urging the YouTuber to enter their arena.

During the build-up to their first boxing match, Woodley was very eager to welcome Paul to MMA.

And at the most recent press conference, Paul expressed his interest again, saying: "It [giving MMA a try] will happen at some point, 100 percent."

But Woodley wasn't buying it, interrupting Paul to call him out properly.

"You a lie," Woodley said.

"Let's do MMA then. Let's do this MMA after we do this boxing so I can elbow you in the head and knee you in the nugget."

With requests to fight Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez coming to light and a path in boxing now set out, who knows whether Paul is actually serious or not.

Either way, whether it's boxing or MMA, it seems fans can't wait to see the Jake Paul hype train derailed once and for all.
