Joe Rogan Has Tested Positive For Coronavirus

Joe Rogan has revealed to his followers that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The podcaster and MMA commentator said he is taking a range of medicines, some of which are unproven to be effective against Covid-19, and said he's feeling good.

"Just to be cautious, I separated from my family, I slept in a different part of the house and throughout the night I got fevers and sweats, so I knew what was going on," he said.

Rogan said he started getting headaches, felt run down and weary. As a result, he took a test over the weekend and it has since come back positive.

Medical authorities have urged people not to take the alleged remedies Rogan has been consuming to fight off the effects of the virus as they are unproven to work.

The podcaster came under fire earlier this year when he urged people who believed they were healthy not to get the vaccine for Covid-19.

He told his millions of followers during a chat with comedian Dave Smith: "People say, 'Do you think it's safe to get vaccinated?' I've said, 'Yeah, I think for the most part it's safe to get vaccinated'. I do. I do.

"But if you're like 21 years old, and you say to me, 'Should I get vaccinated?' I'll go, 'No'.

"If you're a healthy person, and you're exercising all the time, and you're young, and you're eating well, like, I don't think you need to worry about this.

"We're talking about something that is not statistically dangerous for children. But yet people still want you to get your child vaccinated, which is crazy to me."

He later backflipped on that position and admitted he had no right to issue health advice to the masses.

Rogan copped a spray from America's top infectious diseases expert, Dr Anthony Fauci, who said the podcaster was selfish for spreading his views.

"If you want to only worry about yourself and not society, then that's OK," he said in an interview with The Today Show.

"But you're saying to yourself, 'Even if I get infected, I could do damage to somebody else even if I have no symptoms at all', and that's the reason why you've got to be careful and get vaccinated.

"You're worried about yourself getting infected and the likelihood that you're not going to get any symptoms. But you can get infected, and will get infected, if you put yourself at risk."
