Carole Baskin Slams NFL For Allowing Fans To Attend The Super Bowl

Carole Baskin has added the NFL to her growing list of enemies after she slammed American football's governing body for allowing fans to attend the upcoming Super Bowl.

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady is set to make his record 10th Super Bowl appearance as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to dethrone the reigning champions the Kansas City Chiefs.

The climax to the season, which will take place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, is expected to house around 22,000 die-hard football fans - the biggest live crowd seen in the NFL since the start of the pandemic.

But with coronavirus cases continuing to rise across the United States, Tiger King star and Big Cat Rescue CEO Baskin has come out and slated the NFL for allowing fans to attend the game.

"I just think it's irresponsible for people to be gathering in large groups, even though I understand they're saying this is a much smaller group than they've ever had,'' Baskin told USA Today.

"But it doesn't matter that it's a smaller group. It's way more people than should be exposed to each other for the purpose of watching a game.

"We are right now dealing with life or death on this planet and I think every one of us should be doing our part to stay home."

"What I have seen is every time there's a big event, whether it be a protest or a political rally, after that thing happens there's this huge uptick in the number of local people who (test) positive for COVID-19. And there's no way if you bring 22,000 people to Tampa, from all over the place, that you're not going to see that same kind of huge uptick in cases here.

"There's nothing that would justify that sort of risk-taking."

Kansas City have already emerged as favourites to win their second consecutive ring, but the Bucs have the all-important home field advantage.

And with 22,000 fans cheering on six-time Super Bowl champion Brady, you wouldn't put it past the 43-year-old to dig deep and find a way to upset the odds.
