Dane Swan Live Tweeted The Brownlows And It Was Pure Gold

Dane Swan live tweeting the entire Brownlows was everything we needed.

With the coronavirus pandemic still plaguing live events, this year's Brownlow Medal night was held virtually across multiple venues and states.

While most of the players and coaches were situated in Melbourne, others were scattered across Brisbane, Sydney and Perth as the AFL's night of nights unfolded.

And while we're not exactly sure where former Collingwood great Dane Swan was watching the event from, his voice was certainly heard by thousands of fans via social media.

The 2011 Brownlow Medallist took over Sportsbet's Twitter account, and let's just say he didn't hold back.

No one was safe as players, clubs, commentators and even sets of fans were all in the firing line.

You can just imagine Swanny sitting back with a beer in hand watching the entire AFL community react to his hilarious tweets.

And, well, his first post for the night set things up perfectly.

"Just got told what I can and can't say tonight and I tell you what, it's going to be a short shift tonight boys," Swan said.

And what followed was nothing short of a barrage of brutal sledges from the 2010 Premiership winner.

In one tweet, he said: "Clayton Oliver with a mask on is the best he's ever looked at a Brownlow..."

While another read: "Calling it now, back page of the Herald Sun tomorrow, Matt Rowell and Libba leaving an "entertainment venue" with a kebab in hand at 4:30am."

And the cherry on the cake was perhaps this corker aimed at the wooden spoon winners: "The Crows table looks like a table of blokes who only know each other because all their girlfriends are friends..."

Unsurprisingly, fans on social media were loving every second of it.

As for the Brownlows themselves, Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale edged past Travis Boak to take home the top gong.

Neale is the first Lions player since Simon Black in 2002 to win the AFL's most prestigious individual award.
