The former Premiership winner hasn't played professional footy since his retirement in 2010.

Ben Cousins isn't done with footy just yet.

The former West Coast Eagles star is reportedly plotting a comeback with Queens Park FC in Perth's Metro Football League.

And according to reports, Cousins doesn't just want it to be some sort of cameo appearance either and plans to play up to 10 games for the local side.

How good!

The West Australian confirmed that Cousins has already began training with Queens Park with the hope of returning from an injury soon.

"It was just a rolled ankle at training so hopefully I can get back out there soon," Cousins said.

"I've been training a couple of times a week."

During his prime, Cousins was virtually unplayable at times.

In his 238 games for the West Coast Eagles, he scored a whopping 205 goals.

He also won the Brownlow Medal in 2005 before guiding the Eagles to a historic AFL Premiership the following season.

But his performances on the field were somewhat overshadowed by his antics off it.

A number of drug and alcohol-related incidents landed Cousins in hot water with the AFL - and the police as a matter of fact.

In 2007, he was eventually suspended indefinitely by the Eagles and was admitted to a drug rehabilitation facility.

After eventually getting clean, the talented midfielder was given a career lifeline when the Richmond Tigers came calling in 2009.

But even after hanging up the boots in 2010, Cousins has still found himself on the wrong side of the law and was recently jailed for seven months after being found guilty of stalking the mother of his children as well as numerous drug offences.

But it seems he's now finally on the straight and narrow after a positive picture of him surfaced on social media over the weekend.

Cousins was snapped with footy fans at Optus Stadium in Perth where he get to see his West Coast Eagles side demolish Collingwood 103-76.
