In future, the AFL might think twice about asking for volunteer dancers to perform at the Grand Final.

The Australian Football League's decision to release a casting call for half-time performers during the Grand Final has come back to bite them in the bum after one hilarious video went viral.

Perth native Elouise Eftos has become an overnight internet sensation for her cheeky video aimed at the AFL and their call for some free labour.

Eftos poked fun at the sport's governing body with a satirical clip that she posted on her social media channels.

In the video, she jokes that being a dancer at the AFL Grand Final had raised her public profile so much that she didn't feel the need to pay for food, coffee or event rent.

"It's amazing what the exposure has done for my life. It's changed it forever," Eftos said in the clip.

Incredibly, the video now has almost 200,000 views on both Twitter and Instagram with fans sharing it and tagging their mates.

And just days after the video went viral on social media, Channel 9's The Today Show invited Eftos on as a guest - and she didn't hold back.

During the segment, she told co-hosts Allison Langdon and Karl Stefanovic that the AFL's freebie casting call was received really poorly by those in the entertainment industry and that encouraged her to create the video.

"I think everyone loves a satirical approach," she said.

"I posted a really nasty tweet about the situation and I was like 'I'm going to go for the satirical, facetious approach rather than being really intense. It seems to have worked. It's getting the point across. I think that's why people like it."

And she wasn't done there.

Eftos went on to have digs at the Victorian government and Qantas while also taking the time to have a pop at former AFL player Ricky Nixon.

The video continues to attract huge numbers with some fans even calling for her to make a follow-up clip.
