Robert Griffin III claims he was the victim of sexual harassment during his spell with Washington.

The free agent has announced he will be releasing a book that will shed light on his time with what he describes as "one of the most dysfunctional franchises in all of sports".

In the book, titled "Surviving Washington", the 2nd overall pick from the 2012 Draft delves into life in the nation's capital - both on and off the field.

In particular, the 31-year-old free agent plans on exposing members of the NFL team for "medical mismanagement" as well as alleged "sexual harassment".

"I'm going to tell you the truth about what happened in that playoff game in [2013] against Seattle," Griffin III recently said on social media.

"I'm gonna detail the medical mismanagement that I received during my time in Washington.

"I'm gonna open your eyes to the sexual harassment that permeated the walls of that building and give you a deep dive into a power struggle between one of the most powerful coaches in all of sports and an owner who many of you want gone.

"They say, 'The truth will set you free,' so here it is, unfiltered."

When these comments flooded social media, fans immediately questioned why Griffin III hadn't raised this topic previously.

"Sexual harassment victims should share their stories when they are ready not when you want them to," he tweeted.

"The book is not about other people's experiences with sexual harassment in Washington. It's about my experience with sexual harassment in Washington. Hopefully you will listen."

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that the Washington Football Club has been embroiled in sexual harassment claims.

Just last year, the team was fined $10million after more than a dozen former employees came forward and alleged they were treated inappropriately while working.

Griffin's book, which is already making headlines, is set to be released in August of 2022.
