The US Navy SEALS are investigating a leaked video which shows the use of a Colin Kaepernick shirt during a K-9 demonstration drill.

In the original video which surfaced on social media, Navy SEAL dogs appear to attack a man wearing a protected suit while draped in Kaepernick's No.7 San Francisco 49ers jersey.

A second clip soon emerged showing the man saying "Oh man, I will stand" after finally being taken to the ground by the highly-trained dogs.

Colin Kaepernick first took a knee in the NFL in a stand against police brutality and racial injustices.

It's understood the stunt was from a fundraiser last year in Florida.

While there was no official apology, the US Navy SEALS say the stunt is "completely inconsistent" with their core values.

In a statement released on social media, the SEALS said: "We became aware today of a video of a Navy Seal Museum event posted last year.

"The inherent message of this video is completely inconsistent with the values and ethos of Naval Special Warfare and the US Navy.

"We are investigating the matter fully and initial indications are that there were no active duty Navy personnel or equipment involved with this independent organisation's event."
