Nick Kyrgios Completely Loses It At Umpire Whose Walkie-Talkie Went Off Mid-Point

Nick Kyrgios was left raging at the Miami Open after an umpire's walkie-talkie went off during the middle of a point.

What followed next was a heated argument which resulted in Kyrgios smashing his racquet on the court.

The Aussie was absolutely fuming.

Fan favourite Kyrgios has been in sensational form as of late, but it was Jannik Sinner who got the edge in their fourth round clash at the Miami Open, winning 7-6 (7-3) 6-3.

As a rally got underway at 4-4 during the opening set, chair umpire Carlos Bernardes' walkie-talkie went sounded off, which ultimately brought a stop to the game.

This prompted a furious tirade from Kyrgios, who let his feelings be known.

"He should be fired on the spot," he said.

"How is that possible? A fourth round of Miami, one of the biggest tournaments and you guys just can't do your job.

"It's embarrassing. Get a new set of referees, these guys don't know how to do s**t. Walkie-talkies going off.

"It's a joke. He is a joke. Get rid of every single staff and start over. Everything. I will run the sport. I could do 100x a better job. Marketing. Everything. You guys have no idea. None. You guys can't even ref right."

Later on in the match, down 3-5 in the first set tiebreak, Kyrgios and the chair umpire erupted again.

Things well and truly kicked off after the 26-year-old received a point penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct before double faulting to give up the set.

As the competitors returned to their seats, Kyrgios appealed to Bernardes but his cried fell on deaf ears.

Wanting to know Kyrgios complained he did nothing to deserve a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct

"I didn't even say anything to you," Kyrgios said.

"What? What does that mean?

"What's unsportsmanlike about it? What is unsportsmanlike? But what is unsportsmanlike?

"I was talking to my friend.

"I want to talk to someone, then. Get me someone. Get me someone now!"

Kyrgios, who was recently crowned doubles champion at the Australian Open, then smashed his racquet up on the court - a move which earned him another code violation.

But the wild scenes didn't stop there as a fan hopped over the fencing and evaded security to get a selfie with Kyrgios.

But when push came to shove, Sinner walked away with the valuable victory, meaning he now meets Francisco Cerundolo in the quarter-finals.
