Paul Gallen Storms Out Of Press Conference After Accusing Opponent Of 'Doing Nothing' To Promote Fight

Paul Gallen just produced the mic drop of all mic drops.

The former NRL star-turned-boxer abandoned his press conference early after accusing his opponent of doing nothing to promote their upcoming bout.

Before walking off stage, Gallen then threw down the gauntlet to rival Kris Terzievski, claiming he was going to "bash" him.

Since hanging up the footy boots, the 40-year-old Cronulla Sharks legend has made a name for himself on the boxing circuit and is determined to win a title before calling it quits for good.

But for his next fight against fellow countryman Terzievski, G-Train clearly hasn't been too impressed with his opponent's efforts in selling the bout and decided to call him out for it.

“I’m really proud of headlining this card,” Gallen opened up, having sat patiently as the rest of the boxers spoke.

“This is the best card I’ve ever been a part of.

“But one thing that has frustrated the crap out of me the last 20 minutes sitting here is I’ve heard three or four blokes talk about the publicity they’re going to get.

“Now that’s my job to provide a platform for them, to get them out, Kris you’ve done nothing to sell this fight. Nothing.

“There was more media at the media day the other day than an NRL grand final. You didn’t turn up because it didn’t fit in your schedule, so I’m not going to sit here for one more minute and f**king promote him.

“But I’ve got one more thing to say before I go, ‘Kris, you’re a pretty boxer, you are a pretty boxer, but Wednesday’s not going to be pretty, it’s going to be ugly, it’s going to be a street fight and I’m going to bash ya.’ I’m not here to promote you for one more second.”

Gallen then dropped his microphone on Terzievski's table and stormed out of the press conference, leaving those in attendance stunned.

Some applauded Gallen's move while others simply sat back in silence.

Meanwhile, Ben Damon threw it straight back to Terzievski, asking for his thoughts on what just unfolded.

“Good on you, Paul, that was real staunch,” Terzievski said.

“He caught me off-guard with that one, I didn’t expect that.

“But good on, Paul. But like I said, you drink out of mud, you don’t fault into it. So he can do what he wants and I’ll welcome it. So fair play.”
