Tyson Fury's Promoter Bob Arum Confirms The 'Gypsy King' WILL Come Out Of Retirement

Tyson Fury's Promoter Bob Arum Confirms The 'Gypsy King' WILL Come Out Of Retirement

Fury announced his retirement after beating Dillian Whyte in April.

Tyson Fury will "unretire" as soon as he is presented with another big fight, according to his US promoter Bob Arum.

Fury, 33, announced his retirement from professional boxing in April after beating Dillian Whyte at a sell-out Wembley.

The 'Gypsy King' has continued to train since that bout and is yet to relinquish his WBC heavyweight title, fuelling suggestions that he plans to return to the ring.

Top Rank chief Arum is convinced Fury will continue his professional career if a suitable opportunity presents itself, with an undisputed title fight against the winner of Anthony Joshua's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk one potential option.

"Tyson Fury is retired and he will be retired until we come to him with the next big event and then he will unretire," Arum told Fight Hype.

"Well, I think Fury is going to wait to see how the [Anthony] Joshua fight comes out with [Oleksandr] Usyk, and then he'll make a determination whether he wants to continue.

"Other than fighting the winner of Joshua-Usyk, there's really nothing that's really of interest to Tyson Fury, so we will have to see."

Fury has been challenged to a fight by fellow British heavyweight Joe Joyce, who said he would love to face the WBC champion in a recent interview released by Frank Warren.

Replying to the interview, Fury commented on Instagram: "The only way anybody could beat me is with a bat while I’m sleeping."

Joyce immediately responded to Fury, commenting: "Wait, I thought you're retired? If you want some I'll give it to ya!"

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman says Fury will be given plenty of time to make a decision over his future before being forced to give up his heavyweight title.

"We're going to give him the time he needs to reflect, to relax, he just did the mandatory of the division," Sulaiman told Planet Sport.

"There's no hurry to pressure him or his team into making any decisions. We will be in communications, he's having a holiday with his family.

"I'm not saying we will get him three months, there's no time limit right now I'm respecting the level of Tyson Fury, his private time with his family but we will talk in the near future certainly.

"We need to address the situation if he is retiring but at this time, we are just giving him the much deserved time to enjoy his holidays."

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has questioned why Fury is taking so long to relinquish his world title if he is set on retirement.

"I don't know why he needs time, he's retired," Hearn told Boxing Social.

"But no, look, we all know he's not retiring.

"He won't vacate the belt and I hope he faces the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua II. I think that is a tremendous fight for his career."
