Tyson Fury's father John Fury has sensationally revealed he is keen to fight Mike Tyson and has claimed he has an 'edge' over him.

'Iron Mike' excited boxing fans around the world when he announced a comeback last month and dropped training footage.

Tyson is set to return for a string of exhibition fights and Fury has stated he wants to face off with the former world heavyweight champion.

"Listen, I'd like to have a go," Fury explained to What Went Down on BT Sport per Metro.

"You know, at the end of the day, I named my son after him, it would be a good thing.

"But I know one thing, he'll be in no better shape than me. Because I tell you what it is, I've got the edge in shape because I've lived better, I've lived cleaner.

"Tyson, yeah, he was a great, great champion, probably one of the best there's ever been - and if anyone is going to come close to beating Tyson [Fury] in this era, that's him. Mike Tyson has got a better chance than Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua at 53 years old.

"But listen I'd like to have a go me, because I'm big and strong and game and that's all you need to be. He's past his best. And me, the edge I've got is I've lived right. I don't drink, don't smoke, I don't do things I shouldn't do and I train every day."

Fury then goes on to state he would be in there to try and knock the 53-year-old out and that if he had coaching from his sons, he could take on two Tysons.

"Listen, we're not body beautifuls. I look as fat as a pig but I can run 10 miles - no problem, today. And I'm training all the time, and I'm fit and strong and game. And I've got a good heart!

"So if he knocks me out he knocks me out, but I'll try and knock him out, let's put it that way. I'll give my all. I'll do the very best I can. I won't be afraid to get in the ring, I won't be beat before I've started. I'm going to give it my best shot.

"I'm here, I'm 18 stone seven pounds, I'm 55-years-old but I'm in great shape. Don't drink, don't smoke, don't take nothing I shouldn't do and I eat very, very well.

"Plus I've got him [Tyson Fury] to train me. I've got the best son in the world and if I start sparring with him, and big Shane and my Hughie and Tommy, I've got a good chance of beating anybody with that kind of backing. With that kind of team, I'd get in with two Mike Tysons!"

Tyson currently doesn't have an opponent for his comeback, but reportedly turned down a huge $18 million offer to face MMA legend Wanderlei Silva in a bare knuckle fight.
