Jake Paul's 'next opponent' issues challenge after Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul's 'next opponent' issues challenge after Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul has been challenged to a bare-knuckle fight if he beats Mike Tyson in July.

Jake Paul has been challenged to a bare-knuckle fight if he beats Mike Tyson in July.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is set to take on former unified heavyweight champion Tyson on July 20 at the AT&T arena in Texas, in a fight that will be streamed on Netflix.

The bout has been the source of much controversy, with the 27-year-old Paul, who has just ten professional fights in his career, some 30 years younger than Tyson.

But despite the age gap, Tyson, who was the first heavyweight to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, is many people’s favourite for the bout.

Nevertheless, bare-knuckle boxing champion Mike Perry, who has previously fought the likes of Michael 'Venom' Page and ex-UFC champion Eddie Alvarez, has challenged Paul to a fight should he defy the odds and defeat Tyson.

Perry is allegedly eager to take on Paul and introduce him to the world of BKFC.

Speaking to TMZ, Perry said: "Jake Paul, man. If he hurts Mike Tyson, bro, let me get that.

“He's not doing bareknuckle, but I wouldn't put it past Jake Paul because he's been doing stuff that people would say he's afraid of and things like that.

“That's partly what drew me to bare-knuckle was that so many were worried about it or afraid of it."

He added: "I'm like, 'It seems real to me.' So Jake, man, definitely issuing you a challenge. If you get through Mike Tyson, test yourself for real and let's have a street fight.

"F*** Jake, he's got some [talent], but I'd like to say I'm beating him as fast as he's beating these taxi drivers, especially bare-knuckle.

‘I'll hurt him and he'll cry and run away and cower in the corner in the foetal position."

Perry trained with Paul before his fight against Ben Askren, while last year he looked all set to take on the YouTuber’s brother Logan.

The pair even had a face-off, only for Logan to opt to fight Dillon Danis instead.
