Who is Ryan Bourland? Pro boxer confirmed as Jake Paul's next opponent as fight date revealed

Paul has another scheduled bout.

Jake Paul has confirmed that his next boxing match will be against American fighter Ryan Bourland. But who is his next opponent?

Paul's most recent bout was in December, where he knocked out Andre August inside just three minutes in Saudi Arabia.

'The Problem Child' is now on a two-match winning streak after his win over Nate Diaz in August, and will look to make it three in a row against Bourland.

In a post on X (Twitter) announcing his next opponent, Paul wrote: "Next up is a guy who has twice as many professional fights under his belt than I do. Ryan "The Rhino" Bourland.

"On Saturday, March 2, as co-main to the Puerto Rican GOAT, Amanda Serrano, I'm fighting for experience, and to show my love to the island I call home I'll be donating my entire fight purse to my non-profit Boxing Bullies to help renovate gyms across Puerto Rico."

But who is exactly is 'The Rhino', and what is his record in boxing?

As per BoxRec, Bourland has 19 professional fights under his belt, winning an impressive 17 of them.

His most recent bout was in September, when he defeated 4-5 fighter Santario Martin by technical knockout (TKO).

But before then, Bourland's last listed fight was as far back as October 2018, when he beat Jose Hernandez by majority decision.

The 35-year-old fights with an orthodox stance, which is the same as Paul's previous opponent August.

He is also the second consecutive professional boxer to take on 'The Problem Child', with some stating that he is indeed a step up from August in terms of overall quality.

It will therefore be intriguing to see whether 'The Rhino' does indeed offer Paul a stronger test when they face off as the co-main event on March 2 in Puerto Rico.
