The agent of Jake Paul has released a statement after 'leaked rules' for his fight against Mike Tyson went viral.

Earlier this month it was announced that legendary boxer Mike Tyson will return to the ring to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Tyson, who will be 58 when the fight takes place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, retired from professional boxing in 2005, and last fought in 2020 when he faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.

Paul is 27 and has amassed a 9-1 record since his first professional fight in early 2020.

The announcement of the fight sent boxing fans into a frenzy, and since then there has been plenty of speculation over what the rules of the fight will be.

There have been several reports that Tyson and Paul will use 16 oz gloves in a fight with two-minute rounds, no official judges and no winner declared unless there is a knockout.

However, Paul's business partner and agent Nakisa Bidarian took to social media to share a video in which he labelled such reports fake.

"Breaking news! There is no news, stop spreading fake news," Bidarian said.

"There's no truth to all this stuff around Jake Paul [vs] Mike Tyson.





"Here's what is true. One: Mike Tyson is in unbelievable shape and is training like he hasn't in many, many years and is looking scary for Jake Paul.

"Two: there are no tickets for sale. If you've bought tickets, those are tickets that don't exist.

"Three: over 85,000 people have signed up to get access to tickets for when they go on sale. This is going to be a historic event."

One 'rule' that appears to be concrete is the requirement of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations [TDLR] that fighters over the age of 36 must submit favourable results from an electroencephalogram (EEG) and an electrocardiogram (EKG) before they are cleared to fight.

If the tests are passed, the TDLR will then decide whether to classify the fight as professional or as an exhibition bout.
