UFC legend accuses Mike Tyson of faking 'day one' training footage ahead of Jake Paul fight

UFC legend accuses Mike Tyson of faking 'day one' training footage ahead of Jake Paul fight

Chael Sonnen isn't convinced by Mike Tyson's training video.

UFC legend Chael Sonnen has questioned Mike Tyson's 'day one' training video ahead of his big fight against Jake Paul.

Tyson returns to action on July 20 when he faces Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It will be first appearance in a boxing ring since his exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr back in November 2020.

UFC boss Dana White pulled no punches as he shared his honest thoughts on the boxing icon returning to the sport.

On Thursday, Tyson started his training camp as he posted a video of himself hitting the pads with Rafael Cordeiro.

He looked in supreme shape as he showed off his hand speed and power, with fans thinking the fight is already done.

But Sonnen, who famously fought Anderson Silva twice during his MMA career, isn't convinced by the authenticity of the 57-year-old's pad work, sarcastically giving him tips to produce better fake workouts.

On X, he wrote: "In the future, if you’re ever going to spend five seconds hitting mitts, as a way of making the audience believe you’re doing a training session, make sure you splash water on your face and T-shirt first."

Speaking on the PBD Podcast, Sonnen touched on the extreme age difference between Tyson and Paul as he referenced Vitor Belfort's boxing match against Evander Holyfield.

"Vitor Belfort, who has never boxed, put him away so fast. So, this [Holyfield] is an Olympic gold medalist you're watching. Vitor, who has never done it [boxing], put him away so fast that it ended Vitor's [boxing] career," he said. "They would not book him again. They labeled him like an elderly abuser. 'How dare you? How could you do this?' Vitor never got another fight... He [Paul] will get teased for taking this [Tyson] fight."
