Four fighters who could replace Mike Tyson for Jake Paul fight if 'Iron Mike' is banned for failing unusual test

Four fighters who could replace Mike Tyson for Jake Paul fight if 'Iron Mike' is banned for failing unusual test

Mike Tyson could be forced to withdraw from his fight against Jake Paul.

Here are four potential opponents who could replace Mike Tyson for his fight against Jake Paul if the legendary boxer fails a pre-fight test.

Tyson vs. Paul is set for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which will be aired on Netflix.

It will be 'Iron' Mike's first appearance since his exhibition back in November 2020.

But the proposed heavyweight clash could be cancelled if the 57-year-old is unable to pass an unusual test written into the fight rules.

If Tyson is forced to withdraw from his fight against Paul, then here are four potential opponents 'The Problem Child' could face instead this summer.

Roy Jones Jr

Jones Jr had been linked with a fight against Tommy Fury before talks broke down. Of course, he welcomed Tyson back to the ring nearly four years ago.

He's not as big of a draw as Tyson, but the former five-weight world champion arguably has a bigger legacy than his fellow countryman, making him an appropriate replacement.

Carl Froch

Froch has been vocal about Paul vs. Tyson, slamming the contest. And he took aim at Tyson Fury after he threw his support behind the controversial bout.

'The Cobra' called time on his professional career after beating George Groves at Wembley Stadium back in May 2014.

Despite retiring from the sport almost 10 years ago, the 46-year-old has kept himself in decent shape ahead of a potential comeback.

Paul's only blemish on his professional record is a split-decision defeat to Tommy Fury, who reportedly turned down an opportunity to run it back with him on Netflix.

But Most Valuable Promotions, who look after Paul's boxing career, could revisit a rematch against Fury if Tyson is unable to compete.

A second meeting between Paul and Fury would generate a lot of buzz considering the nature of their original fight.

KSI

KSI would be the biggest available option should Tyson be forced to pull out.

Like Paul, KSI swapped YouTube for boxing and enjoyed success in the ring before coming up against Fury, who scored a points win in their showdown last year.

The Brit hasn't fought since his defeat in Manchester, but if Tyson is forced to back out against Paul, then he'd be the biggest name to replace the former world heavyweight champion.
