DAZN Name Top 10 Heavyweight Boxers Of All Time

DAZN Name Top 10 Heavyweight Boxers Of All Time

Tyson Fury has made it into the list of the best 10 heavyweights ever, but DAZN haven't included Anthony Joshua on their list.

Tyson Fury has been named amongst the top 10 heavyweights in the history of boxing, ahead of his world title fight against Dillian Whyte.

Fury is set to box on British soil for the first time August 2018, and the first in England since earlier that year, when he defends his WBC belt at Wembley.

He is favourite to defend the title, with David Haye shocking fans by predicting the Gypsy King will lose, and then he's claimed he will retire after.

If he does hang up his gloves after beating his fellow British heavyweight then they'll be an argument for him being one of the top boxers in the blue riband event division of all time.

DAZN agree and have named the undefeated 33-year-old in their list, although the streaming channel haven't given their top 10 an order.

Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Muhammad Ali join Fury on the list.

On Fury's place on the list, DAZN writer Mark Lelinwalla writes, "Fury has combined pure boxing skills with underrated punching power to a supreme level amidst his growing dominance.

"And both components of his fighting game have been on display in all three of his fights against Deontay Wilder.

"At 31-0-1, all that’s left for the reigning WBC and lineal world heavyweight champion and former unified world champ is to snatch undisputed glory as the cherry on top.

"But honestly, his career and overcoming personal obstacles along the way to date already have him among the greatest heavyweights of all time on our list."

Of course if he his leaving the sport after the Whyte fight then he won't be able to unify the division, but if he doesn't retire then there's a very exciting fight in his future.

Oleksandr Usyk currently holds the other major belts in the division, after shocking Anthony Joshua in their fight last year, and a fight between Fury and the Ukrainian would pit two of the smartest boxers in the division against each other.

Usyk is set to defend the belts against AJ later this summer, expected to be in July, and if the British boxer regains his titles then a meeting with Fury would be the biggest in the history of British boxing.

A win against either for the Mancunian would no doubt cement his place in any all time top 10 list.
