Eddie Hearn Branded A 'Casual' By Oscar De La Hoya After He Names His Top Heavyweights Of All-Time

Eddie Hearn Branded A 'Casual' By Oscar De La Hoya After He Names His Top Heavyweights Of All-Time

Oscar De La Hoya slammed Eddie Hearn's heavyweight list.

Eddie Hearn has been branded a 'casual' by Oscar De La Hoya after he named his top ten heavyweights of all-time.

The Matchroom chief was asked to list the best heavyweights in boxing history, with De La Hoya taking aim at him on social media.

Hearn opted for Muhammad Ali as the greatest heavyweight ahead of Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.

He also named Sonny Liston, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe and George Foreman.

The 43-year-old then selected current champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk as well as Anthony Joshua

Hearn's list, though, didn't sit well with De La Hoya who slammed his rival promoter's heavyweight ranking.

Replying to a tweet revealing Hearn's top heavyweights of all-time, he wrote: "He's a casual."

It's a subjective debate, with the likes of Usyk and Joshua (and Fury let's be honest) still active and still increasing their legacy.

Usyk and Joshua clash for a second time next time next month following the Ukrainian's big win last year.

The British fighter will be gunning to reclaim the titles in the high-stakes rematch.

And, according to Hearn, Joshua won't retire from the sport if he fails to beat Usyk in Saudi Arabia.

Asked whether Joshua could potentially walk away from boxing if he suffered another loss to Usyk, Hearn replied: "No, I would be shocked.

"AJ loves fighting; boxing is everything to him. When he lost to Usyk, the amount of people in the industry messaged me, saying, 'I think he should retire now.'

"I said, 'He just lost to the pound-for-pound #1 or #2. He’s not had that many fights.'

"He loves the sport, and I’m sure he’ll be around for a long time, but obviously we’d much rather win."
