Jake Paul Inserts Clause Into Contract For Second Bout With Tyron Woodley

Jake Paul Inserts Clause Into Contract For Second Bout With Tyron Woodley

Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley will slug it out in the squared circle for a second time.

Jake Paul has inserted a rematch clause into the contract for his second bout with Tyron Woodley.

Paul and Woodley will meet inside the squared circle again on December 18 in Tampa Bay, Florida after Tommy Fury pulled out due to a bacterial chest infection and broken rib.

Their first encounter in August, an eight rounder in Cleveland, Ohio, ended up a split decision victory for Paul.

Woodley continued to train and was immediately drafted in as a replacement for the main event bout next week.

The 39-year-old is desperate to avenge the defeat and has confirmed there will be an immediate rematch if he levels the scores.

"Of course I’m down for the trilogy," he told TMZ Sports.

"Yes, it is a rematch clause in there. I’m going to put that on him.

"After I knock you out, Mr Betting Man, are you going to run or are you going to try to fight somebody else?

"Or are you going to come and get this work again?”

Former UFC welterweight champion Woodley has also been given the added incentive of receiving an extra $500,000 if he knocks out the 24-year-old.

The same bonus was arranged for Fury prior to his late withdrawal.

"At the end the of the day, you put a bag on your own head,” Woodley told MMA Fighting during a media conference call on Thursday.

"Sh*t, I’m completely all about taking that free money. I had plans on doing that anyway, but if he wants to entice me a little bit more.

“You don’t offer a kid from Ferguson half a bag to go out there and do what he wanted to do anyway. So it does put motivation. You don’t put a bounty on your own f*cking head and think I’m not going to take it."

Woodley is said to have made $8 million (£6 million) from his involvement in the first bout.

There was a rumour going around claiming that Woodley was banned from knocking out Paul, however it's said the only thing he was prohibited from doing was wearing Grant gloves for his boxing debut.
