Jake Paul Responds To Claims His Knockout Of Tyron Woodley Was 'Lucky'

Jake Paul has slammed claims his knockout of Tyron Woodley was "lucky" - stating he set up the whole sequence.

After going eight rounds with Woodley in what was the former UFC welterweight champion's boxing debut back in August, Paul secured a devastating knockout victory in their rematch last month.

His wicked right hand in the sixth round sent Woodley to the canvas in Miami and moved him to 5-0 in his professional career.

Many were not convinced by the knockout, with some even believing the fight to be fixed given the theatrical fall from the 39-year-old.

But Paul says his killer shot was anything but lucky and explained just how he stopped Woodley.

"I've done that to every single person that I've fought," Paul responded on the Boxing with Chris Mannix podcast.

"So it’s not like I’ve knocked out everyone in a violent fashion in one way or another.

"My power is only increasing, and I set up the shot, you watch the whole sequence.

"I think I see his hand come flying down, I think again, go to the body, and then bring it up top with all my power and brought my hips through.

"It’s not lucky, look at all the people that Tyron Woodley has been in there with, and he’s never been KO'd like that.”

Paul had initially been scheduled to face Tommy Fury after a heated back-and-forth feud but the 22-year-old had to pull out due to a broken rib and bacterial chest infection.

The 'Problem Child' has named legends like Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez as dream opponents.

However, the leading candidate for his next opponent is former world champion Julio César Chávez Jr, who has already claimed Paul's team have reached out and has been called out by the YouTuber.

He won't be making a swift return to the squared circle, though, as he is set for a seven-month break from fighting.

Instead, he is poised to be focusing on promoting the rumoured undisputed lightweight title bout between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor.

Still, the 24-year-old continues to feud with UFC president Dana White and recently posted a video on him partaking in MMA training.
