Excitement is building ahead of the super-middleweight unification fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Caleb Plant this weekend.

The fight gets underway at approximately in UK at approximately 5am on Sunday morning, as Canelo puts his WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles on the line against Plant's IBF super middleweight title.

BT Sport sent Steve Bunce to interview Canelo in the build-up to the fight, and the Mexican gave his thoughts on a number of other leading sporting figures that included, Conor McGregor.

Bunce lifted aloft a pic of McGregor at the end of the pair's Q&A saying that the Irishman had been trying to fight him for years. Canelo clearly wasn't excited by the prospect and simply said, 'Oh man, no, don't try', meaning this match-up is unlikely to happen any time soon.

The focus for the Mexican is clearly on Plant for now, and the pair come face to face at the end of a stacked card at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The build-up to the fight has grown increasingly ugly after Canelo left Plant with a cut to his face at the press conference, with the American saying something which clearly caused offence.

There were also some heated words spoken between the pair, as Canelo said: "You are not on my level and you will see on November 6. You don't want to fight now, I promise you," in quotes published by talkSPORT.

Plant added: "I know only one thing better than proving people right, and that's proving people wrong. I've been doing that my whole life. As soon as I stepped on the stage, people started talking about what I can't accomplish and what I can't do."

Aside from Canelo v Plant, the undercard features seven fights and among these sees ex-WBC super-middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell face Marcos Hernandez, while former WBC super-bantamweight champion Rey Vargas takes on Leonardo Baez.

If you want to tune into the action in the UK, you can see it live on BT Sport Box Office for a price of £19.95.
