Danny Williams bizarrely informed the fans in attendance that his fight with Gueney Artak was cancelled after making his walk to the ring in civilian clothes.

Williams was in line to face prospect Artak for the GBA heavyweight title in Germany on Saturday. However, the British boxer said he couldn't fight due to an illness.

He made his walk to the ring with music blaring out, but the 46-year-old got on the mic and told the crowd he couldn't compete in a very strange moment.

Williams calling off his fight sent social media into overdrive as boxing fans voiced their concerns about the man who once beat Mike Tyson.

"It's sad to see Danny Williams like this," one social media user wrote.

A second Tweeted: "If the mans not well why should he risk his life, he did the right thing in my book!"

A third added: "Everything is messed up about this situation. First, Danny Williams (who beat Tyson) is still fighting? Second, for a German Title? The promoters deserved this outcome!"

Another wrote: "He fights still because he needs the money to keep his kids in good schools away from where he grew up."

Williams has a 58-28 boxing record and last fought in September against Kristaps Zutis where he suffered a first round knockout in Latvia.
