Manny Pacquiao Drops Hint Over Possible Conor McGregor Fight

The MMA star is yet to make his comeback in UFC after facing Floyd Mayweather in August.

Conor McGregor taking on Floyd Mayweather was one of the biggest sporting events of 2017. It was expected he would return to MMA but now Manny Pacquiao may have thrown down a new challenge to UFC's biggest star.

It is now over a year since Conor McGregor was a UFC star. On November 12th 2016 he beat Eddie Alvarez to become the first person to hold two titles in two weights at the same time in UFC.

Then he took some time off to become a dad and then he set up the biggest payday of any UFC star's career, by stepping outside of the octagon and into the squared circle with Floyd 'Money' Mayweather.

After making all his moolah in boxing and unsurprisingly coming up short we've been waiting for his return to the octagon. Some rumours suggested he might be back in time to face Tony Ferguson at UFC 219 but there's been nothing on that.

In fact McGregor has been pretty quiet about his return to MMA but now there's a new challenger from the world of boxing with Mayweather's own former rival, Manny Pacquiao, throwing his name into the hat:

Pacquiao has only fought once in the last year and it came in a surprising and controversial loss to Australian Jeff Horn, in Australia, with the Filipino losing his WBO welterweight title in the process.

The 38 year old is now Senator of the Philippines but admitted last week that he isn't enjoying the life of a politician saying, "I feel dismayed, discouraged. I want to let go because I'm not used to politicking."

It seems like he very much fancies life back as a boxer in big fights but would there be the appetite to see him and the Notorious? Surely people want to see the Irishman back in UFC.

What will boxing bring us in 2018?
