Tommy Fury Medicine Ball Video Resurfaces After Rib Injury Scuppers Fight With Jake Paul

Fans have raised questions over Tommy Fury's training methods.

Fans have raised questions over Tommy Fury's training methods after he was forced to pull out of his upcoming fight with Jake Paul.

Fury was due to face Paul on December 18 in Tampa Bay, Florida but the Brit - younger brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury - pulled out of the fight on Monday due to a "medical emergency".

Fury later confirmed that he had withdrawn from the bout after suffering with "a severe chest infection and a broken rib".

Fans immediately began to speculate over what may have caused the rib injury to Fury, with some on social media highlighting a video in which Tyson Fury repeatedly slams a medicine ball into his younger brother's chest.

"Tommy pulled out due to a broken rib. Wonder what could have caused that…," tweeted @KristoferBRose.

Paul confirmed the fight with Fury was officially off on Monday afternoon and accused the British fighter of being "boxing's biggest b****".

"He has pulled out of the fight, the Furys have pulled of that fight due to a medical condition," said Paul.

"Who knows what the f*** is going on in that camp, I think he has a bad case of purseitis. I couldn't believe the news at first, it still doesn't even seem real.

"He fumbled the biggest bag of his life. Now he'll be watching at home, paying $60 to watch me instead of being paid millions of dollars to fight me.

"I've fought with a broken nose, I've fought sick, get the f*** over it, this is boxing. It's official, he was scared, I think the pressure got to him - the s*** talk got to him."

Paul also revealed that he would instead fight Tyron Woodley in a rematch after the former UFC champion stepped in at the last minute.

"The good news is that Mr Tyron Woodley, we called him up, we were like, ‘hey, do you want to take the fight?," added Paul, who beat Woodley via split decision in August.

“He has been training, he’s going ‘sure, let’s do the rematch, let’s run it back’. I’m giving him $500,000 extra if he can knock me out.

“Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2, leave no doubt. I didn’t knock him out the first time, I’m coming back and I’m getting that crazy W, that crazy highlight reel knockout. December 18th, the show must go on.”

Meanwhile, Fury's promoter Frank Warren says he will look to reschedule the fight with Paul for next year.

"We are gutted for Tommy. This was a big opportunity for him to show the world what he can do," said Warren.

"Unfortunately, he's had to withdraw now as he's clearly not anywhere near 100 per cent. We'll be working with Jake Paul's team to see if we can reschedule for the New Year."
