Tyron Woodley's Savage Reaction To $500,000 Jake Paul Bet Shows He's Taking This S**t Serious

Tyron Woodley's Savage Reaction To $500,000 Jake Paul Bet Shows He's Taking This S**t Serious

Tyron Woodley is rematching Jake Paul and now has an even bigger incentive.

Tyron Woodley has sent an emphatic warning to Jake Paul after he included a $500,000 knockout bonus in the contract for their rematch.

Paul was scheduled to be fighting rival Tommy Fury on December 18 in Tampa Bay, Florida, but the Love Island star pulled out due to a "medical emergency" that was later revealed to be a bacterial chest infection and broken rib.

Quick to react to the news, Paul revealed the event would still be going ahead as planned however and praised former UFC welterweight champ Woodley for stepping in at the last minute.

The 39-year-old fought 'The Problem' in his professional boxing debut in August, losing in a split decision in Cleveland, Ohio.

He's been in the gym constantly since and was so desperate for the rematch he even got a "I love Jake Paul" tattoo on his finger.

This time, however, he nets an extra half a million dollars if he knocks out the 24-year-old - and Woodley is certainly not coming to play.

“At the end the of the day, you put a bag on your own head,” Woodley told MMA Fighting during a media conference call on Thursday.

"Sh*t, I’m completely all about taking that free money. I had plans on doing that anyway, but if he wants to entice me a little bit more.

“You don’t offer a kid from Ferguson half a bag to go out there and do what he wanted to do anyway. So it does put motivation. You don’t put a bounty on your own f*cking head and think I’m not going to take it.

"When you feel like you’re at a certain level, you feel like you’re at a certain point of your life and your career, you want the bag to match where you feel like you’re at, it’s just kind of a personal matter behind it. Definitely it’s additional motivation. "You’ll see me walking away with another $500,000.”

The same $500,000 clause was in the deal when Fury was the opponent prior to his injury, which was caused by being punched by a "16 or 17 stone man" in sparring according to his dad John.

In the first Paul-Woodley fight, there was a rumour speculating that the veteran MMA fighter was not allowed to secure a knockout.

However, as per USA Today, the only thing Woodley couldn't do was wear Grant gloves.

Woodley wore Everlast gloves for the bout, while Paul sported custom-made Grant mitts.
