Tyson Fury makes 'no excuses' offer to Anthony Joshua for 2022 fight

Tyson Fury makes 'no excuses' offer to Anthony Joshua for 2022 fight

Fury has taken to Instagram to lay out his terms.

Tyson Fury has offered Anthony Joshua a 60/40 purse split deal for a shot at his WBC heavyweight championship later this year. Check out the video below:

Fury gave Joshua a 'few months notice' to get ready for a 'Battle of Britain' on Monday evening, which saw Joshua tell his foe he'll be ready in December.

The 34-year-old went one step further on Tuesday and outlined the financial package in a video shared to Instagram.

"Hi guys, quick one, I'm being bombarded with messages on how much I'm going to pay AJ," he said.

"Everyone's saying 80/20, 70/30, 75/25. The actual answer is 60/40.

"40 per cent of this amazing fight because I want this fight to happen. He doesn't have any excuses now not to take it. He can't say I've low-balled him and offered 20 per cent, 30 per cent.

"I've offered the people 40 per cent. Take it or leave it. Let us know."

Fury last defended his title against Dillian Whyte in April and 'retired' from boxing immediately after.

He reversed his decision last month in the build-up to Joshua's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua failed to reclaim his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO titles and many believed the fight to make was Fury vs Usyk.

The Ukrainian has since revealed he won't be ready to fight Fury this year, which saw the 'Gypsy King' put their unification bout on hold.

He's turned his attentions to Joshua and in his initial message on Monday explained: "You've all heard that I'm going to be fighting within the next few months, and before I announce an opponent I need to do this just in case.

"Anthony Joshua, I know you've just lost a fight to Usyk, and I know you're belt-less at the moment, and I'd like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and the lineal championship in the next few months.

"You're coming off a 12-round fight so you're match-fit, you're ready, I'm giving you a few months' notice.

"If you're interested I'll send you the date over and we can rumble – a battle of Britain for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world. Let me know if you're interested, if not I will select another opponent."

Joshua's defeat out in Saudi Arabia last month means promoter Eddie Hearn is back to the drawing board for potential opponents.

'AJ' responded with: "Yea calm. I don't do the online discussions just for clout, so if you're really about it shout 258mgt. I’ll be ready in December. Khalas."
