Tyson Fury Responds To Conor McGregor Dig

Tyson Fury Responds To Conor McGregor Dig

Conor McGregor wasn't happy with Fury's praise of Khabib Nurmagomedov and now the world heavyweight champion has hit back.

Tyson Fury has hit back at Conor McGregor, after the UFC star went on one of his typical social media attacks at the boxer over his support for Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor getting on Twitter to call someone out is hardly a new thing, and the Irishman is usually quick to delete whatever controversial thing he's posted online.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, perhaps as he watched Israel Adesanya beat Robert Whittaker, the Notorious turned his attention to Fury.

The world heavyweight champion had heinously posted about Khabib doing things the 'right' way by getting out of fighting whilst on top of the UFC.

Despite not a single mention of McGregor, the Irishman decided to hit out at the boxer, bringing in some incident involving Billy Joe Saunders dad, and of course Fury hasn't taken to it kindly.

"Come back when u win a fight mush," Fury tweeted, "And the difference in me & you is i don’t get myself in trouble & people actually like me, your [sic] just a bully who hit old man."

McGregor fired back hours later with more insults and called Fury a 'rim licker' multiple times.

Whilst Fury might not be as divisive a character these days, it's a little bit of a lie from the 33-year-old to claim he doesn't get himself in trouble.

Despite his popularity, plenty of people have become a bit fed up with the constant digs at both Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua in recent negotiations over fights.

It's been down to the fact that it took so long to get his latest fight negotiated, and even now we don't have a date for his world title defence against Whyte.

Fury also annoyed people by claiming his fight with Joshua was on last year, just days before Deontay Wilder's appeal for a third fight, which the undefeated British boxer was coming, went in the Bronze Bomber's favour, ending any chance of the AJ fight.

The Manchester born fighter has previously been in trouble over homophobic, misogynistic and antisemitic comments, leading to people not wanting him to be part of the Sports Personality of the Year voting in 2015.

Fury finished fourth that year and has since said he wanted to be left off the shortlist in 2020 and claimed he would sue if he was on the list in 2021.

However, despite all that Fury is certainly more well liked and less controversial than UFC's loudest fighter McGregor, especially in recent years.

The Notorious has been less and less active, although his current spell without a fight is due to an injury, and he has become less popular over the years.

As well as not being able to let go of his feud with Khabib, the former two weight UFC champion has had recent spats with Jake Paul and Machine Gun Kelly.

He is expected to get back in the octagon sometime in the summer, although it's not yet known who his opponent will be as he attempts to once again become a champion. It might all come easier if he stays off social media for a while.
