Tyson Fury Said Tommy Can Beat Jake Paul 'With Broken Ribs And The Flu', It's An Awkward Watch

Well, this is awkward...

Tyson Fury recently claimed Tommy Fury would defeat Jake Paul 'with broken ribs and the flu' - he has since pulled out of the fight with those injuries.

It was confirmed on Monday that Tommy won't be able to fight on December 18 after suffering an injury and being ill while in camp.

The irony? His injuries are exactly what brother Tyson said wouldn't weigh him down ahead of the biggest fight of his life.

WBC heavyweight champ Fury told Queensberry Promotions: "He [Tommy] could probably turn up with broken ribs, a broken left hand, two left feet... his clothes on back to front and the flu and still beat Jake Paul.

"That's how confident that I am that he can beat Jake Paul."

The video then cuts to Tommy telling Paul to 'not pull out' during a video press conference last month.

Fans have reacted to the clip online and they think it's very awkward now.

One commented: "You could see it in Tyson's eyes. He wasn't believing what he was saying."

Another added: "What happened to this energy in the Fury camp?"

While a third put: "Got to give it to Jake on this one. Tommy Fumbles after all."

Paul has confirmed he will be running it back with Tyron Woodley a week on Saturday instead, having beat the former UFC star back in August.

The 24-year-old revealed all in a statement posted to Instagram: "It is official, Tommy Fury is boxing's biggest b****.

"He has pulled out of the fight, the Furys have pulled of that fight due to a medical condition.

"Who knows what the f*** is going on in that camp, I think he has a bad case of purseitis. I couldn't believe the news at first, it still doesn't even seem real.

"He fumbled the biggest bag of his life. Now he'll be watching at home, paying $60 to watch me instead of being paid millions of dollars to fight me."

Woodley has been keen to get a rematch with Paul for months and even got a tattoo to try and tempt 'The Problem Child' into a second bout.

Fury is devastated he had to pull out and hopes the fight can still happen in the new year, given how personal the rivalry is.
