Tyson Fury Screamed At The Referee Not To Let Dillian Whyte Continue After Knockdown

Fury saw Whyte hit the canvas after a huge uppercut in the sixth round and wanted to make sure the challenger to his title didn't carry on.

Tyson Fury screamed at the referee to make sure he didn't let Dillian Whyte continue, after the sixth round knockdown that eventually led to the end of the fight.

Fury dominated the early rounds of the pair's WBC heavyweight world title at a sold out Wembley stadium, in front of 94,000 fans, but there was little to suggest a quick knockout was coming.

However, as Whyte struggled to close the distance, Fury's jab opened up the perfect opportunity to land a brutal uppercut, that only looks even more stunning in slow motion, as the halfway point of the fight loomed.

The Body Snatcher had his own snatched from him as he looked to be out cold before he even hit the canvas, but did somehow get up before the referee's ten count.

As the referee attempted to decide whether the challenger could continue or not, Fury could be seen screaming at Mark Lyson to make sure the bout didn't continue, bellowing 'no.'

After seeing if the challenger could continue, Lyson did call things off as Whyte stumbled back towards the ropes and had to be stopped by the third man in the ring from hitting the canvas again.

Fury was full of praise in his post fight press conference for the official, saying, "I was very happy with Mark Lyson, he did a fantastic job.

"If he had allowed it to continue and me to storm into him and hit him with two or three more then he may have been in some serious trouble.

"So, a big shout out to the ref. He made the right call there. I would have had to pile on to him again and hurt him, and I didn’t really want to do that."

Referees aren't always praised by fighters and earlier in the night there was a bizarre decision from one referee in the Isaac Lowe fight.

Lowe, one of Fury's teammates, was the favourite to win the WBC Silver featherweight title in his fight against Nick Ball on the undercard at Wembley.

Ball however was the dominant fighter and knocked Lowe down early in the fight. He then ended it in the sixth round, the same as Fury later in the night.

Lowe's corner threw the towel in after some vicious shots from the victor but he could have been saved from the last couple as the referee had a long look at Lowe, who didn't move or cover himself up, but allowed the fight to go on slightly longer than he should.
