'Ball Of The Century' - Shane Warne Will Always Be Responsible For The Greatest Delivery In Cricket

'Ball Of The Century' - Shane Warne Will Always Be Responsible For The Greatest Delivery In Cricket

Never forget.

Shane Warne's 'Ball of the Century' will go down as the greatest delivery in cricket history and summed up his incredible ability with a cricket ball.

The tragic passing of Warne has rocked the cricket world. The sport has lost an iconic figure, who will go down as one of the greatest bowlers to have ever played the game.

And what better way to remember his wizardry by reliving 'That Ball' against England in the Ashes back in 1993.

Warne stunned Mike Gatting and England cricket fans when he knocked over his off-stump with a ball that spun extravagantly.

With his first ball against England, in his first Ashes test, the Australian bowled Gatting with a delivery that was etched in cricket history.

His phenomenal introduction to Ashes cricket proved to be a defining moment in the history of leg spin bowling.

In his documentary 'Shane', Warne talked through his legendary ball in a fascinating insight into one of the sport's most iconic moments.

"My thought process was to bowl the ball and spin the ball as far as you possibly can and send a message to the England guys that this guy can spin it," he said.

"Let them see it drift, curve and just rip it.

"I'm nervous and there's suddenly a hush that goes around the ground.

"I take a step, I bowl and I let go of the ball and it's all like it happened in slow motion.

"Gatting tried to turn it. It drifted and he followed the drift. It pitched, just missed his bat and just clipped the top of off stump.

"First ball in an Ashes series and it felt pretty bloody good."

Rest in peace to an all-time great.
