Ed Sheeran Somehow Misses Open Goal In Football Match In Brazil

Don't give up your day job, Ed.

You might think that Ed Sheeran has everything. He's a multi-million record selling pop star, he's got all the money in the world, and he's had a load of celebrity girlfriends.

His life is pretty good, in short.

That doesn't mean that he can finish a shot into an open goal, however. Let me explain.

Basically, it's Ed Sheeran's birthday tomorrow, but he's off on a huge tour around the world so there isn't a great deal of opportunity for him to enjoy his special day.

So, as a special treat, the company that was organising that leg of his tour arranged for him and a few mates to have a kickabout against some locals on the Allianz Parque, the stadium that Ed had just filled out for two nights in a row.

It's in Sao Paolo and is home to Brazilian heavyweights Palmeiras. That makes it something of a big deal. Ed didn't quite live up to the high standards, though as you can see.

He shared a short video of himself on his Instagram being played in across the goal. There was no goalkeeper and the pass looked pretty good. Despite all of that, Ed fluffed his lines.

The ball glanced of his foot and flashed hopelessly across the goal.

Ed can never be accused of not poking fun at himself when he deserves it. Because he's a good sport he allowed his fans to see his embarrassment and tagged Champions League and current World Club Champions Real Madrid in the post, asking them to "sign me up plz".

With finishing like that, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. won't be worrying too much for their place in the side.

Despite all of that, it looks like Ed and chums had a decent enough time during their kickabout. He shared a kickabout of the team on the park and said: "So for my birthday @moveconcertsbrasil organised a game at the stadium we played the last two nights, with me and my mates versus a load of Brazilian players.

"We were terrible but it was such a fun experience. I scored a few but I think the goalie was just being nice. Such a lovely day. Thank you Phil and the team for setting it up"

Well, at least he knows that he was awful.

They even appear to have made him up a special kit for the occasion. The concert organisers also shared a pic of Ed holding a shirt with the name 'Edinho' on the back.

Stick to the day job though, eh?
