Martin Brundle has been involved in yet another bizarre grid walk interview – this time with NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Brundle's pre-race interviews have become a much-loved feature on a race weekend, and have delivered legendary moments involving Ozzy Osbourne, Cara Delevingne and more recently Machine Gun Kelly - which you can watch below.

Brundle's frantic efforts to interview A-list stars, who sometimes know very little about the sport they're attending, often create hilarious moments for racing fans.

There were high hopes that the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which was attended by numerous celebrities, would deliver – and so it proved.

Brundle spoke to no fewer than 13 different stars on his pre-race grid walk, including O'Neal. But the NBA icon was in no mood to chat.

After ignoring Brundle's initial request for an interview, he later responded to Sky Sports F1 analyst's second attempt with a simple "Lewis Hamilton, baby" before walking away.

Brundle saw the funny side of the failed interview, responding: "Lewis Hamilton, baby. That'll cover it.

"Yeah, it's okay. I've had a great television career so, honestly, it doesn't really matter, does it, if it's over this evening?"

While attempting to speak to Shaq, Brundle revealed that he had gone to extra lengths to get a chat with the 15-time NBA All-Star.

"Shaquille O’Neal, I've actually got an extra long cable put on my microphone tonight in case I got somewhere near him," Brundle said.

"I don’t think he's up for it. Wasted my long mic cable!"

Brundle had slightly better luck speaking to football icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who revealed which team he was supporting in Las Vegas.

"You're cheering for Ferrari?" asked Brundle.

"Yeah, yeah, Ferrari is my team," responded Ibrahimovic.

"You drive a Ferrari? Several Ferraris would be my guess," Brundle followed up.

To which Ibra replied: "A couple of them, yeah. A couple of them."

Unfortunately for Zlatan, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc could only finish second, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen winning again - his 18th victory of the season - with his teammate Sergio Perez coming third.
