Sensational Filippo Inzaghi Compilation Titled 'How To Turn Your Defender' Is A True Work Of Art

They don't make strikers like this anymore.

A sensational compilation based on AC Milan legend Filippo Inzaghi's ability to turn a defender has gone viral and it makes for spectacular viewing.

If you've never seen the former Italy international in action, then you're in for a treat. Inzaghi was one of the best strikers of his generation and knew exactly where the net was.

He was never supremely gifted in the technical department though. It takes a certain level of skill to make it as a professional, but what made Inzaghi so unique was his ability to capitalise on his opponent's mistakes.

The former Juventus striker timed every run to perfection and manipulated his body to leave defenders in the dust.

Nobody found that out better than Ajax during the second leg of their 2003 Champions League quarter-final.

A 0-0 draw in Amsterdam meant Milan had home advantage and 30 minutes in, Inzaghi popped up unmarked to head home the opener.

He managed to evade both Ajax defenders and had all the time in the world to pick his spot.

Jari Litmanen equalised for the Dutch giants in the second half, but Milan went ahead once again and Inzaghi played a huge role.

'Super Pippo' rolled his man with one touch and dinked the ball over the top for Andriy Shevchenko, who made no mistake from six yards out.

Youngster Steven Pienaar levelled again and it's worth remembering at this point, Ajax would've gone through on away goals.

Inzaghi wasn't about to let that happen. In the dying embers, he managed to isolated himself from four defenders and chip goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont.

It was on its way in, but Jon Dahl Tomasson pinched the goal and the tie for the Rossoneri.

Milan went on to win the Champions League that year and a big part of that was Inzaghi. Not bad for a player Sir Alex Ferguson once coined the phrase 'born offside' for.

Johan Cruyff went even further and declared: "Look, actually he can't play football at all. He's just always in the right position."

Fans online have reacted to the video and they agree strikers like this don't exist anymore.

One commented: "Probably one of the most successful striker with no advantage of physicality, or technique but he had the best positioning ever."

Another said: "One of the last of his kind. Modern managers would tell him to retire, he defied logic."

A third tweeted: "This dude was born to be a goalscorer."

While someone put: "He always celebrated like he scored his first and last goal."

Inzaghi retired in 2012 and he did so with three Serie A titles and two Champions League triumphs to his name.

In addition to that, he was part of the Italy side that won the 2006 World Cup and the seventh-highest goalscorer in all of Italian football.

He turned his hand to management and was most recently with Brescia in Serie B.
