Alejandro Garnacho close to 'ten-fold' Man Utd salary increase after eight games

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is set to be handed a new contract after an impressive start to life in the first-team.

Garnacho made his senior debut in October's 3-0 win over FC Sheriff in the Europa League before scoring his first goal against Real Sociedad a few weeks later.

The 18-year-old scored his first Premier League goal in dramatic fashion last weekend, netting an injury-time winner versus Fulham.

He's quickly rising up the ranks and United are keen to reward that with the player currently earning £5000-per-week.

Per the Daily Star, Garnacho's representatives and the United hierarchy are confident an extension can be agreed before the end of the year. It'll see his weekly wage skyrocket to £50,000-per-week.

Earlier this term, there were concerns about Garnacho's attitude. He was reportedly late twice in pre-season, which limited his game time under the strict ten Hag.

Garnacho has buckled down since that moment, something United midfielder Bruno Fernandes alluded to earlier this month.

To ensure the fame doesn't go to his head, Garnacho still doesn't have a place in the first-team dressing room at United's Carrington training complex.

Ten Hag praised Garnacho's attitude following the Fulham game, frequently bringing up his mentality.

He told reporters: "[Him scoring] is fantastic. First, he shows the mentality you need. Under stress he's performing, he's coming in, he has an impact, he has the belief. Twice in three, four days, so that is really good.

"I'm really happy that we can bring a young player up and it shows that when players deserve it they get their chances.

"That is the first one but we have to bring more. He's great.

"I like that he has a big belief and that's great to work with. He likes football. He's a real pleasure."

Illness to Jadon Sancho and injury to Anthony gave Garnacho a number of opportunities prior to the World Cup break.

He certainly took them, with the Argentina youth international already establishing himself as a fan favourite among fans.
