Andre Onana removed from Cameroon squad just an hour before the game - situation is very 'tense'

Inter Milan and Cameroon goalkeeper Onana was taken out of the team to play against Serbia after an argument with his manager.

Rigobert Song has dropped first choice goalkeeper Andre Onana for Cameroon's huge World Cup game vs Serbia after a falling out between the pair.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Onana refused to change his playing style for the game, leading to him being benched by the manager, after initially being announced in the starting line up.

The Inter Milan goalkeeper clearly doesn't want to play the way that manager, and national legend, Song wants his side to play.

He's not only going to be out of the game against Serbia, reports have claimed that he's completely out of the squad for the rest of the tournament.

Spanish journalist Helena Condis claims that president of the Cameroonian Football Federation Samuel Eto'o even tried to intervene.

The report says that Eto'o was used as an intermediary in talks between the goalkeeper and the manager but he obviously couldn't fix things.

Onana's style of play often sees him come off his line and try to pass out from the back, something that maybe Song doesn't want his team to do.

In his place, Cameroon have been forced to play back up keeper Devis Epassy, the 29-year-old who plays for Saudi Arabian side Abha Club.

It is Epassy's sixth appearance for his country, but the first time he's appeared in the World Cup.

The Africans started their World Cup campaign with a 1-0 loss to Switzerland, leaving them needing a positive result of some sort against Serbia.

In that opening defeat Breel Embolo scored the only goal of the game, with the Swiss forward refusing to celebrate against the country of his birth.

Their opponents on Monday, Serbia, lost to Brazil in their opening game, thanks to Richarlison's brace in the second half.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward scored arguably the goal of the tournament, with his bicycle kick, to end the Serb's chances of earning a point.

Brazil face Switzerland later on Monday and the winners can guarantee their place in the next round.
