Antonio Conte Couldn't Believe It When Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg Ignored His Hug At Full-Time

Antonio Conte Couldn't Believe It When Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg Ignored His Hug At Full-Time

Spurs picked up a vital win against Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte was visibly taken aback by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's decision to ignore his celebratory hug after the full-time whistle.

The Lilywhites secured a historic win against Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, with goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane [2] sealing a dramatic victory at the Etihad.

It was an emotional ending to an action-packed fixture and after the full-time whistle blew, a delighted Conte wanted to praise each and every one of his players following a battling performance.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss was spotted embracing Ryan Sessesgnon when the Sky Sports cameras caught up with him.

And seconds later, Conte walked over to midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg but as he opened up his arms to deliver a big hug, the Danish international turned his back and walked away - a moment that left the Italian stunned.

As you can see in the footage below, Conte didn't look too pleased following the incident.

Of course, Hojbjerg's actions may have been purely accidental. He might not have seen Conte before walking away but fans on social media raised eyebrows around the unusual moment.

One user wrote: "Quite interesting this situation. Why is Pierre just walking away from Conte like that? Maybe something is going on hehind the scenes?"

Another commented: "What is wrong between Hojberg and Conte? I am worried..."

Earlier this month, Conte was far from satisfied with Hojbjerg's performance during their Premier League clash against Southampton.

In fact, the Italian manager brought him off after 58 minutes to give new signing Rodrigo Bentancur his Premier League debut.

According to Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold, Conte "bellowed in frustration" after Hojbjerg played a few sloppy passes.

He was then dropped for Spurs' clash against Wolves last weekend, but went on to play a big role in the club's win against Manchester City on Saturday.
