Fabrizio Romano confirms Bukayo Saka contract is '100 per cent' agreed with Arsenal

Gunners fans will be delighted.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dropped a major update on Bukayo Saka's contract and Arsenal fans will be delighted.

Saka has been an integral part of Arsenal's title challenge this season, producing 13 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League.

In turn, Mikel Arteta is desperate to tie him down to a new deal at the Emirates, with his current contract due to expire next year.

Negotiations are said to have been ongoing since last summer, with The Independent stating that an 'agreement has all-but been reached' over fresh terms earlier this month.

The report even claimed that promotional footage had been filmed, with a contract expected to be announced before the end of the season.

The 21-year-old is set for a major pay rise with a £300,000 per-week contract being touted, whilst a new deal is expected to keep him in north London for a further five years.

Romano has since confirmed reports, outlining the finer details of his contract.

Romano update on Saka's contract

In a major boost for Gunners supporters, Romano has said Saka's deal is "100% done".

The Italian told Give Me Sport: "Saka is done 100%. The deal with Saka is completed and it is just about the official statement, so Bukayo Saka will be an Arsenal player until June 2028.

"The signing of the contract has been completed, so everything is fine there. Now, it's just about waiting for the statement."

England international teammate Luke Shaw described the winger as "world class" following the Red Devils' 3-2 defeat to Arsenal in January.

“I know him, I know how good he is," Shaw told Viaplay. "He’s an unbelievable player and still extremely young."

“He has a long, long way to go. But for me, at this moment in time, he’s world-class and if he can continue to be delivering week-in week out then he can reach the top."

French defender William Saliba will be up next on the list, with the 21-year-old yet to commit his future to Arsenal and no sign of a new deal on the horizon.
