"I'm hearing..." - Sky Sports reporter drops exciting Arsenal update over January window

Signings are on the way for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar are reportedly looking to add two players in the January transfer window to boost Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League.

The Gunners currently sit top of the league by five points, ahead of the reigning champions Manchester City.

Gaspar, better known as Edu, recently received a promotion at the Gunners. Technical Director was his previous title, however, in November the club announced he would become their first-ever Sporting Director.

In a statement addressing the promotion, Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham said: “We are delighted that Edu is recommitting his future to the Club that he so clearly loves, after making such a positive and critical contribution to our progress in his time with us so far.

"Edu’s promotion formalises his already growing influence over our Academy operations, and we look forward to Per and Edu working together to strengthen the integration between our men’s first-team and Academy yet further."

What has been said about Arsenal's January business?

According to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, Arteta and Edu would like to bring in two players during the winter transfer window.

“I don’t think Arsenal should have any concerns about anything at the moment. What I’m hearing from the club is that they’ll look to add one or two again in January," he said speaking to GiveMeSport.

“Edu and Arteta have got a fantastic partnership. They’ll work together and they’ll only sign the ones they want to sign.”
