Arsenal fans tell Wesley Fofana not to sign for Chelsea

Arsenal fans tell Wesley Fofana not to sign for Chelsea

The Leicester City defender looks certain to move to Chelsea this summer but a group of Arsenal fans pleased with him to move north London.

A group of Arsenal fans begged Wesley Fofana to join their club instead of Chelsea, with the defender on the verge of a world record fee to the Blues, as you can see in the video below.

The highly rated centre back is wanted by Chelsea, after they missed out on signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla, with Barcelona signing him instead.

Leicester are currently demanding that their fellow Premier League side pay more for the 21-year-old than Manchester United did for Harry Maguire.

That would make him the most expensive centre back in the history of football, a title that hasn't exactly worked out for Maguire in the past three years.

However, a group of Arsenal fans clearly don't want to see the Frenchman move to west London and instead hope he goes to the Emirates in the near future.

"Don't go Chelsea, whatever you do in your career," one fan exclaims, before another adds, "You're gonna wait for Arsenal."

The shouts then turn to a dream partnership between Fofana and William Saliba, who has already impressed since making his first appearances for Mikel Arteta's team this summer.

The video came following the Gunners' win against Leicester on Saturday, in which Saliba actually scored an own goal, which helped Brendan Rodgers' team get back into the game momentarily.

In the past, the attitude of the Arsenal players may have come into question but fans were impressed with the reaction to the former St Etienne defender, with his teammates supporting him after the mistake.

Fans were also treated to a brilliant performance from Gabriel Jesus, who scored his first two goals since his move from Manchester City in the summer.

It would have been annoying for the 100s of FPL players who dropped the Brazilian, just one week after he'd become the most selected player in the games history.

Chelsea's need for another centre back was highlighted during their 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, having twice led against their London rivals.

Kalidou Koulibaly did score a brilliant goal but the defending for Spurs' second goal did leave a lot to be desired, although there were complaints about the referee.

Over 100,000 fans have since signed a petition asking for Anthony Taylor to never referee their games again.
