Arsenal Legend Says He Would 'Get Behind' Sean Dyche As Mikel Arteta's Replacement

Its been well documented that Mikel Arteta is already under pressure at Arsenal following the club's opening day defeat at Brentford, with Burnley manager Sean Dyche being mentioned as a possible replacement.

Speaking on Talk Sport, Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has been discussing the prospect of the 'Ginger Mourinho' heading South. Dyche has long been praised for turning Burnley into a solid Premier League outfit, building a team of hard working, honest players. and Parlour, who won two league titles with Arsenal believes the 50-year-old deserves a chance at a 'Top 6' club.

“I don’t know if they will go down that road but if Arsenal said to me Sean Dyche was the next manager then good. We’d get behind him and see how we do. How do we know until he gets an opportunity. I’m surprised that some clubs haven’t give him one and said, ‘let’s get Sean Dyche in’."

Mikel Arteta has been backed with a £130m war chest so far this summer. With rivals Chelsea visiting the Emirates Stadium this weekend, a defeat could mount pressure on the Spaniard, following last season's inconsistant and record low table finish.

“We know what he’s done at Burnley is unbelievable. He does a great job every season.”

Dyche himself has spoken about his admiration for the club in the past, labelling Arsenal as a 'big and powerful club'.
