William Saliba contract details 'revealed' as Arsenal star set to become one of club's top earners

Saliba has signed a new deal.

William Saliba has agreed to a new long-term contract with Arsenal - and details of his new deal have now been reported.

The French defender has committed to a stay at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2027, as reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Saliba's original deal was due to expire in the summer of 2024, with the Gunners having been in talks with the 22-year-old for a number of months.

Arsenal had already agreed fresh terms with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Aaron Ramsdale, with Saliba the next box left to tick off.

Ornstein reports that the defender will now enter into the paperwork stage, with both parties now keen to get a deal signed as soon as possible.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that, following Saliba's agreement, the club will enter into talks with captain Martin Odegaard.

Now, Saliba's contract details have been reported.

Saliba Arsenal contract details 'revealed'

According to The Sun, Saliba's new contract is worth a huge £200,000-per-week, with the deal including an optional year's extension that Arsenal can trigger.

It is reported that the Frenchman was previously on a weekly wage of £40,000, meaning the new contract gives him a significant pay rise.

He is not going to be the club's highest earner, however. That accolade reportedly belongs to Saka, with talkSPORT claiming he has put pen to paper to a deal worth £300,000-per-week.

Saliba's agreement will put an end to claims that he could join Paris Saint-Germain, with French outlets reporting that Les Parisiens have been tracking the central defender.

The France international spent last season on loan at Marseille, before becoming a key part of Mikel Arteta's first team squad this term.

He made 27 Premier League appearances before being sidelined with a back injury in February, but Arteta has retained hope that he will return to full fitness in time for pre-season.
